The Blues allowed Chicago to dictate the play in the first period in route to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Jonathan Toews. The Blues would get an early goal in the second from Vladimir Tarasenko, but Chicago took a 2-1 lead out of the second period on a goal by Artem Anisimov. The Blues looked like a different teamm in the third period. After Chicago took a 3-1 lead just passed midway in to the third. The Blues would tie the score at 3-3 on goals by David Perron and Tyler Bozak. Neither team could score in overtime, but Jonathan Toews scored in the shootout to give the Blackhawks a 4-3 win.
