Blues Vs Islanders 10/09/17 Game Recap
The Blues head out for 4 games on this east coast road trip. They played the Islanders to kick off the road trip on Monday afternoon. Former Blue Doug Weight is behnd the bench now as the head coach for the young, but improving Islanders. National Hockey League stars love to play big in the Big Apple and Vladamir Tarasenko did not dissapoint the arena or television audience. Tarasenko would score 2 goals and give the Blues a 2-0 lead headed in to the 3rd. Though behind, the Islanders never gave up and continued to pepper Blues Goalie Jake Allen with shots until Islanders veteran Andrew Ladd got the Islanders back in the game with a goal in the 3rd period. While excited to be back in the game they were not satisfied and tied the game on a goal by Anders Lee to take it to overtime. Both teams had opportunities in the OT, but did not capatalize on any of the chances. It took goals by Brayden Schenn and Vladimir Tarasenko in the shoout out to secure the win for the Blues.
