The Blues drop the puck on a second-round series with Nashville this Wednesday night.
On this episode of The Drop, the St. Louis Blues are moving on to the second round of the 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs after taking home their second overtime win, 4-3. The Blues rolled into Minnesota and took an early 2-0 lead on goals by Vladimir Tarasenko and Alex Steen, but the Wild were able cut the lead in half on a power-play goal by Ryan Suter. A scoreless second period gave way to a third period which saw a returning Paul Stastny give the Blues a 3-1 lead, only to have the Wild chip away and tie the game with just over five minutes remaining. Magnus Paajarvi buried a feed from Vladimir Sobotka at 9:42 of overtime to give the Blues a 4-3 victory, and sends “The ‘Note” home to prepare for a second round matchup with the Nashville Predators.
