The Blues headed to Madison Square Garden to play their second game of this road trip against the New York Rangers. For the second time this year they would be facing a former teammate in Kevin Shattenkirk. Shattenkirk signed a four year free agent deal with the Rangers after spending six and a half years as a member of the Blues defensive core. Madison Square Garden was rocking and both teams had a great first period. The Blues scored two in the first on goals by Carl Gunnarsson and Brayden Schenn. While the Rangers got a power play goal from Mike Zibanejad. Henrik Lundqvist and Carter Hutton kept the game locked at 2-1 until Jaden Schwartz scored an empty net goal to ice the game for the Blues 3-1.
