A missed opportunity…
On this episode of The Drop, the St. Louis Blues saw their dreams of a Stanley Cup Finals appearance dashed in Nashville, falling to the Predators in Game 6, 3-1.
Paul Stastny put the Blues ahead 1-0 just two minutes into the game, knocking home a rebound off a shot by Vladimir Tarasenko. Unfortunately, that was all the scoring the Blues could muster. The Predators tied the game 35 seconds into the second period when Roman Josi found the back of the net on a beautiful feed from Mattias Ekholm, and the teams would head into the third period tied 1-1. It took just over three minutes for Nashville to claim the lead when a 2-on-1 break saw Ryan Johansen beat Jake Allen for the game-winner. The Blues fate was sealed with an empty net goal by Calle Jarnkrok, and the Blues were sent packing after dropping their second round series, 4-2.
