The series resumes Friday night at Scottrade Center with the Predators leading the Blues in this best-of-seven series, 1-0.
On this episode of The Drop, the Nashville Predators came into St. Louis for the first game of their second-round series and, thanks to a late goal by Vernon Fiddler, now lead the series, 1-0. Colin Wilson got the scoring started for the Predators on the power play when he tipped a P.K. Subban shot past Jake Allen, giving Nashville a 1-0 lead after one period. Subban made it 2-0 just over two minutes into the second period, but Colton Parayko skated in at the 8:04 mark and put one past Pekka Rinne to cut the Preds lead in half.
Filip Forsberg scored the Predators second power-play goal of the game when a save by Jake Allen deflected off Forsberg’s skate, and Nashville took a 3-1 lead into the third. Jaden Schwartz cut the lead to 3-2 at the 6:48 mark, and Vladimir Sobotka knotted up the score at 9:22, 3-3. An errant poke check by Jake Allen allowed Vernon Fiddler to give Nashville the lead for good with just 5:05 remaining, and the Predators held on to win Game 1, 4-3.
